Soothe is a series of products designed for people with physical disabilities affecting their arms and hands. It includes wearables, a handheld grip, and an interactive app. The wearables use nickel-titanium (shape memory) wire technology which expands when heated to apply pressure to trigger points- where muscle fibers are tight and cause pain in the shoulder or arm, while the handheld grip measures grip strength and tension and can send a signal to provide more pressure to the wearables when necessary. The connected app allows users to track their stretching routine over time and set goals while providing them with feedback and encouragement. The goal is to soothe muscle pain as you stretch for a better experience that encourages a healthy routine and mitigates typical stigmas surrounding stretching.
